- Overview
History
Nursing and midwifery care research center of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, located in nursing and midwifery faculty, started its activities informally in Jan 9, 2007 in line with achieving research aims. This center managed to get the official license from the expansion council of universities of medical sciences in November 1, 2009.
Aims
- Developing and applying human knowledge in the field of applied and fundamental research.
- Conducting fundamental, epidemiological and clinical research so as to modify the system of providing health care services to meet the needs of the Muslim community in the country in the field of nursing and midwifery.
- Increasing quality and quantity of research projects (proposals) and leading the research in line with the priorities.
- Conducting applied and fundamental research in theoretical and clinical domains of nursing and midwifery.
- Developing nursing and midwifery knowledge so as to promote the quality of nursing and midwifery services.
- Developing approaches of applying the research findings of the profession in providing nursing and midwifery services.
- Developing the knowledge of nursing and midwifery services based on evidence.
- Developing the knowledge of methodology in professional research among nurses and midwives confirming research in different aspects.
- Prevention and care with the aim of promoting the society health.
- Publishing the information achieved from implemented research about different activities in nursing and midwifery fields.
- Providing scientific and practical information and approaches and the required procedures for promotion of nursing and midwifery services.
- Cooperating and contacting with identical centers inside and outside of the country.

Vision
Nursing and midwifery care research center of Isfahan university of Medical sciences works in the field of nursing and midwifery. Considering the current capacities, this center manages to turn into the national and regional research center of excellence and to be of the administrators of planning, leading and performing research projects with the aim of solving the clients and patients’ problems in the field of nursing and midwifery care over the country and the region
Mission
Nursing and midwifery research center is in the charge of following missions:
- Developing nursing and midwifery knowledge by conducting applied and fundamental research in different fields of nursing and midwifery.
- Introducing the fields of applying the research results in nursing and midwifery and publishing the results at the national and international levels.
- Presenting required evidence- based research for making reasoned decisions in planning, training and cares in nursing and midwifery.
- Developing nursing and midwifery evidence-based knowledge to promote the quality of nursing and midwifery services.
- Supporting the researchers, encouraging and reinforcing the inter-sectorial and inter-professional cooperation in health system so as to meet the needs of the Muslim community.
- Introducing the role and importance of fundamental concepts of nursing and midwifery profession.
- Knowing and reinforcing the motivation and capabilities of researching among nurses and midwives.
